The Rick Steves Best of the Adriatic tour begins in Ljubljana, Slovenia with a welcome meeting by tour leader, Sanel Maric. There are introductions all around of the 28 travelers, and we picked our buddies for the all-important buddy checks.
Ljubljana and castle taken from the Nebotičnik Cafe, located on the top of the Nebotičnik (Skyscraper) building. The cafe and terrace are free and you don't have to order anything. We didn't, and they kindly brought us water anyway. (Tap water is safe to drink in Slovenia and Croatia!)

Our daily tour schedule is posted in the lobby area.
The afternoon orientation walk includes landmarks for finding our way back to Hotel Mrak, our base for two nights.
After the walk, we're off to our first group dinner!
