Lovely Ljubljana - Part 2

It was fun to watch a Slovenian dance demonstration on a beautiful sunny day in front of the town hall. These teens were charming and their traditional costumes were very detailed. It is nice to see traditions kept alive.

Just past the dancers in the square, was the Robbo Fountain that, since the first half of the 20th century, is known as the Fountain of the Three Carniolan Rivers. This replica was raised in 2006 to replace the original 1751 fountain that is now in a museum.

Saint Nicholas's Cathedral and its three domes are just beyond, in the background. The interior is stunning.

In the church, we noticed that two chairs were set up for a wedding. Outside, we ran into the bride, her parents, and attendant. Their dresses were gorgeous!

Saints Cyril and Methodius Church is a Serbian Orthodox church built in the early 1930's and has five domes with golden crosses at their top. The brilliant frescoes in the interior were painted by the Serbian painters from 1986-1997.

On the first day of school, there were swarms of students all around the main square. They have a tradition of spray painting each other. We did our best to not get tagged!

These girls reminded me of my youngest granddaughter.
