We Have Arrived in Rabat, Morocco

Our Gate 1 tour of Morocco begins in Rabat. We arrived a day early to get our clocks set.

We walked through the market  of the medina or old town. We are not sure what it is called. There are vegetables, fruits, nuts, dates, meat and all sorts of things for sale in a haphazard sort of way. Some are just laid on the ground. We definitely stand out as non-local people. We are objects of curiosity but we feel no danger. The little blue tuk tuk-type cart has a bibyble on the front with a passenger in the back. We found a place to have a delicious tagine, which is hot stew mopped up with good bread.

We are staying in a Riad for two nights before our tour begins. It is somewhat like a B&B. This photo is taken in our room and we are sitting on a "sofa." The room is decorated is so many colors and patterns I wonder how it can possibly go together, but it is Moroccan and beautiful.
