Tizi n'Tichka Mountain Pass with Organ Donors

We're winding up the Atlas Mountains from Air Benhaddou to a height of 7,234 ft to Tizi n'Tichka Pass, which links the southeast oMarrakesh to the city of Ouarzazate through the High Atlas mountains. The scenery is stunning and reminds us of Utah and Colorado. No explanation for the next few scenics that were mostly captured from the bus window.

This little town looks awfully drab and dry. But, the people who live there have full lives and connections with each other.

At the summit of Tizi n'Tichka, we have a photo break on a road that is an engineering accomplishment.

It was definitely a twisty, winding road on the way down. We were warned that if you get motion sick, you should take Dramamine. Ok, so I took the non-drowsy formula and survived just fine. Bob didn't take any and had no problem, which made me wonder why I listen to the nervous Nellies in the group. For heaven's sake, it was really nothing to me, despite all the twists and turns.

And yet, there were idiots that passed out bus on a curve with blind sight ahead. Mostafa, our guide, said that they are called "Organ Donors." He's right. I've seen them in many countries, especially the UK and Italy. (Just don't take me with your foolishness!!)

What do you think? Utah and Colorado scenics?

As we enter the outskirts of Marakech, the villas and gated communities of the nuevo riche Europeans get larger on the outskirts of the medina/old town Marakech.

  1. 🩵💙🩵 Such a wonderful adventure. Glad neither of you got sick on the twists and turns. I never could adjust to cars passing our buses when we were in Europe. I was never sure how they did that!!! Did they morph into air and return to a car again. Certainly the need for mini-cars in the land of narrow roads. 🩵
